Christiani Pitts returns to Broadway in Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). She is best known for her performance of Ann Darrow in the Broadway musical King Kong. Previously she appeared in the leading role Jane in the Broadway musical A Bronx Tale. Recently, she recurred on Starz’s “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” and starred in the Netflix feature Resort To Love. Tim Johanson is an award-winning producer and general manager based in the UK. His work in the West End includes Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) at the Criterion Theatre, and Dirty Great Love Story at the Arts Theatre. At Trafalgar Studios, Tim’s productions have included The Wasp by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, the Olivier-nominated Four Minutes Twelve Seconds by James Fritz, and BU21 by Stuart Slade. Tim’s portfolio extends beyond the West End, with notable works such as Superhero (winner of the Best New Musical at the Off-West End Awards in 2017) and David Henry Hwang’s Chinglish (Park Theatre). He also served as a producer for the Olivier Awards from 2011 to 2016. Tim’s extensive experience also includes producing Dinner With Friends (Park Theatre), Port Authority (Southwark Playhouse), Wingman (Pleasance Edinburgh, Soho Theatre, and tour), and Dirty Great Love Story (59e59 Theaters, New York). As an independent general manager, Tim has worked on Captain Corelli’s Mandolin in the West End and on tour, Yellow Face by David Henry Hwang at the National Theatre and the transfer of the Fringe First-winning Chef by Sabrina Mahfouz to the Soho Theatre. Tim has been developing and producing new musicals for over 15 years. Among the many projects currently in development are Mona Loser (by Two Strangers writers Jim Barne & Kit Buchan), Sunshine (by Kath Haling), My Life Without You (by Pippa Cleary and Jake Brunger) and Southbound (by Vikki Stone and Katie Mulgrew). He is also the founder of Sapling and Colt, a musical theatre artist development company that has fostered numerous successful collaborations—among them, Jon Brittain and Matthew Floyd Jones, whose work together includes Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! In film, Tim has worked as an Associate Producer on Adult Children (Donmar Warehouse and London Film Festival). In addition to his producing work, Tim is the author of The Accidental Producer—How Anyone Can Get Their Show On Stage, a comprehensive guide for small scale theatre producing.

Two Strangers is Buchan & Barne’s first musical, and comes to Broadway from the American Repertory Theater after opening at Kiln Theatre, London in 2023. Their folk-musical Catastrophe Bay, about a criminal village in Cornwall, was performed at the Bristol Old Vic in 2022 and again last year with NYMT. Mona Loser, a new musical about a fabricated pop star, held its first workshop in London this summer. Separately, Jim Barne has won the London Chamber Orchestra’s young composer competition, and Best New Score at the Horrorhaus Film Festival. Kit Buchan’s poems, meanwhile, have appeared in Poetry Review, Poetry London and elsewhere, and he is among the ten winners of the 2025 National Poetry Competition. Jim and Kit met in 1997 when they were nine years old, and they have a combined height of 12’6”.
